BALLET : We offer a variety of levels from Pre-Ballet through advanced. Students will receive traditional and classical ballet technique classes which will include a variety of techniques prescribed by our experienced staff. At Martell, we believe that ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance and that students who participate in ballet class will develop solid technique that can help them excel in any other genres of dance which they chose to study.

POINTE: Students who are permitted to take Pointe will experience this extension of ballet which requires the development of superior strength in the ankles, legs, and core. All pointe classes are by invitation only.

MODERN: In our Modern Classes, students will experience a form of contemporary theatrical/concert dance employing a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas. Students will explore a variety of cultures, themes, and develop an understanding of abstract movements while learning about the history of this iconic art form.

TAP: Tap classes at Martell are exciting! Students will expand their knowledge of rhythm as it relates to the sounds they make with their feet! All levels of tap are challenging and incorporate classical as well as current traits of this historic style of dance.

Yearly performances are based on current and historical musical theatre shows and offer our students exposure in this increasingly popular class unique to Martell School of Dance!

YOGA FUSION:  Yoga Fusion is a class designed to strengthen, stretch, and relax; maximizing the MindBody connection.  Using the core concepts of Yoga, we will explore a variety of poses, meditations, and breath work.  The class will also offer low-impact toning exercises and Pilates based movement.  Please dress in comfortable activewear and bring a sticky mat and water.

BEGINNER BALLROOM: Designed for students who are new to the ballroom dance genre, students will learn basic steps and a few simple moves. The pace of this class will be generated by the students grasp on technique. Enjoy this rather social dance form by bringing a friend and creating new friendships while you learn!

PILATES: Pilates is a form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement.  Our certified instructor suggests that you bring a yoga mat to this class as well as water to aid in proper hydration.
